Melissa Barry

Melissa is a health communicator and corporate reputation leader with more than 20 years of experience supporting global pharmaceutical leaders, emerging biotechs, healthcare organizations, and start-ups as they bring complex innovation to market.

Throughout a career that includes roles at Edelman, GCI Health, and M Booth Health, she has advised clients from the earliest stages through to commercial leadership, shaping narratives and strategies around industry-defining developments like AI-driven drug discovery, breakthrough gene therapies, global health equity and digital health innovation. Whether launching a novel technology or navigating public affairs, her focus is on building trust and driving long-term impact.

Melissa began her career on the ground at the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and international health and development organizations. This foundational experience in advocacy and community engagement underscored a core belief that drives her work today: no matter how sophisticated the technology, successful health communication must always begin and end with the people it serves.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts from Roehampton University, alongside postgraduate studies in public health and nonprofit management.
