Mission North is thrilled to announce that Scott Love has joined as a Senior Vice President to help lead our fast-growing Financial Services practice. Scott’s appointment underscores our commitment to delivering best-in-class strategic communications for our clients across the financial services and fintech landscape. He will partner with Courtney Chennells, SVP and Danny Casarella, VP on the practice’s growth, and will report to Mission North’s co-CEO, Tyler Perry.
Scott brings more than 15 years of extensive financial communications experience to Mission North, building powerful narratives and executing high-impact media relations campaigns. His expertise ranges across both consumer and enterprise financial technology bands, including PayPal, BillMeLater, Capital One, Ingenico Group, ACI Worldwide and LifeLock. Scott’s sector experience includes fintech, payments, credit, banking, along with managing teams globally, accented by multiple, long-term, overseas assignments. He previously had senior roles at We Communications, FleishmanHillard and MSLGroup.
Scott’s arrival comes at a time of growth for the Financial Services practice that mirrors the broader fintech industry, having added leaders in industries buoyed by policy shifts and market momentum. Two recent client additions include:
Mesh and Earnest join a portfolio of some of the most consequential companies across prop tech, wealth management, payments and expense management, including Airwallex, Betterment, Opendoor, Marqeta, Toast, Brex, Appfolio and more, with over one-third of the portfolio consisting of public companies.
“The financial services industry is evolving faster than ever, and companies need to communicate their value with clarity and authenticity,” said Tyler Perry, Co-CEO of Mission North. “Bringing Scott onto our leadership team marks an important step in the growth of our Financial Services practice. His deep expertise, client-first mindset and wry sense of humor make him a natural fit for our team and our ambitions.”
Earlier this year, our Financial Services practice hosted Mission North’s fourth Turning Point Dinner, where we convened communicators from Betterment, BNY, Marqeta, Jefferies, Brex, Public, Current, Empower and Tomo to explore the paradox of progress facing fintech and financial services innovators. The conversation yielded insights on overcoming ‘FOBO’ (Fear of Being Obsolete) as the fintech industry grows up and legacy brands seek reinvention, striking the right balance between innovation and values-driven leadership and navigating a fragmented and ever-shifting communications landscape to make an outsized and lasting impact on audiences in the attention economy.
Our clients consistently tell us that our deep industry knowledge and collaborative approach are what set us apart. We are proud to be a trusted partner to leaders across the financial services ecosystem.
"We partnered with Mission North because of their deep industry experience in fintech and AI, and their narrative-first approach to PR and communications,” said Lea Cademenos, Senior Director of Communications at Airwallex. “Airwallex is scaling quickly, and we need strategic partners who can move just as fast, bringing sharp perspective and decisive thinking. Through it all, Mission North has been a trusted thought partner and advisor helping us navigate the changing media landscape."
As our Financial Services practice continues to expand, we are looking for passionate and talented communications professionals to join us. If you are excited about shaping the future of finance and want to work with some of the most innovative companies in the industry, we want to hear from you.
